On February 28, 2023, it was learned from the Xionggu Technical Service Department that the installation and welding task of the Langfang branch pipe jacking of the Langfang branch line of the Mengxi Project through the South-to-North Water Diversion + Longjiang Canal with the help of Xionggu pipeline automatic welding equipment was successfully completed. The pipe jacking crossing the South-to-North Water Diversion + Longjiang Canal is a bottleneck project that restricts the progress of the whole line. The launch shaft is located in Beizhuangtou Village, Bazhou City, Hebei Province, with an inner diameter of 10 meters and a depth of 28.78 meters. The crossing grade of this project is large, the inner diameter of the pipe jacking tunnel is 1.6 meters, and the horizontal length is 258 meters, mainly including five main tasks, such as waterproof curtain, caisson, horizontal tunnel geological improvement, slurry balance pipe jacking and pipeline installation.

It is understood that the project is responsible for the 17th unit of Huayou Industrial Construction Liantou, affected by the size of the shaft, the Mengxi project department strictly follows the node target to reverse the construction period, accurately refines the production task, clarifies the construction plan to the specific day, insists on the construction period is not relaxed, pays close attention to safety and quality control, optimizes resource allocation, increases resource investment, and makes every effort to promote the overall construction progress. The project manager led the project management personnel to stick to the construction site, pay close attention to every process and link of on-site construction, and solve problems on the spot to ensure the smooth progress of construction. The welding unit is constructed in 24-hour shifts, the on-site management is strengthened, and the testing unit is coordinated to arrange a special person to be responsible for the weld joint inspection.

Since the shaft was about 25 meters deep, the length of the welded cables and control lines was insufficient, so the Xionggu Pipeline automatic welding equipment had to be moved down the shaft and the power generated above the shaft was supplied with a 40-meter power line. Steel plates were laid under the shaft, and the base metal was degaussed in advance, taking into account the effect of the magnetic field on the arc. Due to the careful consideration and arrangement of the construction environment and welding process parameters by the project team in advance, the pass rate of double inspection at 31 crossings was 100%.
