At offshore oil and gas equipment manufacturing sites, integrated welding has long relied primarily on semi-automatic gas metal arc welding (GMAW) — a process marked by high labor intensity, heavy demand for skilled welders, and weld quality that depends heavily on operator skill. To tackle these industry pain points, COOEC Qingdao Company designed and developed a dual-machine collaborative fully automatic GMAW welding system. As a key equipment provider for this system, Chengdu XiongGu Company supplied magnetic crawler-type intelligent welding machines, providing strong support for the system's all-position automatic welding and dual-machine collaborative operation. 

XiongGu is honored to have taken part in this intelligent welding practice. The magnetic crawler-type intelligent welding machines deployed at COOEC Qingdao Company feature a magnetic crawler travel mechanism that enables 360° welding without the need for track laying. Equipped with dual front-and-rear laser tracking and monitoring, the machines can automatically follow the seam, self-align, and autonomously plan weld passes. Working in tandem with the dual-machine collaborative fully automatic GMAW welding system, they enable all-position automatic welding of butt welds, making the welding process smarter and more stable.

Field applications have shown that the welding system produces aesthetically pleasing weld beads and high weld quality. While enhancing equipment intelligence, automation, and construction efficiency, the system effectively alleviates the shortage of skilled welding talent. For frontline welders, labor intensity is significantly reduced; for construction planning, the workload of scaffolding erection is markedly decreased.
